§ 14-52. Permits.

Latest version.
  • Any person desiring a permit required in the Uniform Building Code shall make application to the mayor and council on a blank form furnished by the city clerk giving the estimated cost, size, the material of which the building is proposed to be constructed, and the proposed location of the lot on which it will stand, and the information required for a building permit. Upon submission of the application for a building permit to the city, the building permit application will be reviewed by the city building inspector and any other department of the city to whom the building inspector refers said application. If upon review, the building inspector finds that the application meets all city requirements, then the building inspector shall issue the building permit. The building inspector shall report to the city council on at least a monthly basis of all of the building permits issued by the city during that month. Should the building inspector determine that the application for building permit reveals noncompliance with any code section of the Minden City Code, he shall either deny the building permit, or refer the same to the board of adjustments for a variance if a variance will correct any deficiencies in the application. The Minden City Building Inspector shall also have the authority to refer said application to any other commission or department within the city if said building permit application does not meet city codes. The cost for a building permit application shall be set by the city council by resolution.
